Day 6 at Tour de l'Ardèche 2018

That’s it! Tour de l’Ardèche is finished! Now a few days without the camera, working on The Road Book instead, before heading to Innsbruck for Worlds.

Looking back at this year’s race I’ll miss the beautiful scenery but not the chaotic finish lines. Today was a prime example: As I got off the moto at the finish line today I found a photographer on both knees in the middle of the road lining up his finish line shot. I tried to explain to him in that ‘You can’t stay there’. He looked at me with indignation and turned away when his partner (I guess a reporter) said “He’s from the local newspaper”. My French isn’t good enough to say “I don’t care what your job is, unless you’re a professional ghost it’s going to hurt when riders crash into you!” Fortunately, the break split up on the run in, crossing the line in ones and twos so there isn’t a vacancy at the local paper for a photographer.
