Emakumeen Bira 2018 - Stage 1

There are no easy stages at Emakumeen Bira (unless you’re going to take it easy in the TT). After the first hour out and back along the gorge it was up and down all evening to the finish. It was a hard stage to shoot as well as race: Constantly switching from dark to bright sunlight through the trees and trying to avoid getting stuck between groups before descents on narrow, twisting roads. It’s good to see Sabrina back to (or even better than) her best. It’s been a hard few seasons for her with injuries and it’s always nice to see someone new winning.
