And just like that, it’s done. There’s a huge build up to Ronde van Vlaanderen throughout the Spring and before you know it, it’s over. It won’t go down as an unforgettable edition of the race but was enjoyable none the less. I’m especially happy for Cille getting her third place finish. I remember back in 2016, when Cervélo Bigla asked if I could take a photo of some young Danish girl they’d signed and needed a photo for the announcement. I didn’t know Cille then but it’s been a pleasure getting to know her over the years since and seeing her develop into a top rider.
Oddly, this was my last race in Belgium this year, and my last one day race until Vårgårda in August! The way we’ve split the calendar this year, Balint will be doing all the one day races for the next few months whilst I move onto the stage races, starting with the Healthy Ageing Tour on Wednesday!
